With 11,000 acres of fun just waiting for you, you can’t go wrong at Lake Greenwood, a year-round playground for all types of water sports. Two of the area’s 15 golf courses are located directly on the lake. A new five-mile Scenic Shoreline Trail attracts hikers and wildlife lovers, and a variety of camping options are available at Lake Greenwood State Park as well as private campgrounds. Lakefront parks provide swimming areas, volleyball, and boat ramps. The Blueway, a 34-mile paddling trail, brings kayakers, canoers and other water lovers to the area for both short or long routes.
There’s nothing like having a pontoon boat to yourself for an afternoon of cruising, swimming, tubing, paddling or wakesurfing. Several marinas on Lake Greenwood rent all types of boards, boats, and gear. Rent a pontoon boat and kick back on the water. You can stop in at the Jungle Float, get a treat from the ice cream boat, or catch some fish. When it’s time for a dinner break, there are plenty of restaurants along the water, from Break on the Lake to Harris Landing, where you might catch some great burgers and live music.
